    International Shareholder Advisory Agency Streamlines Communication with O365 Cloud Migration

    The Organization: The leading shareholder services and advisory firm with offices in Canada and the U.S. helps public companies across North America reach out to shareholders and secure the success of transactions or resolutions driven by shareholder votes. The company offers an array of specialized services focused on strategic and defensive advisory, governance advisory and proxy analytics, strategic communications, and voting analytics.

    The Situation: The organization’s 700 users were operating entirely in an on-premises Google environment.

    The Challenge: The company was facing a very complex migration to a cloud-based Microsoft O365 environment that included a new telephony infrastructure. As an international organization, they also needed to adhere to the new requirements of Europe’s GDPR law.

    The DynTek Solution: The DynTek Modern Workplace implementation team began the engagement by building out the organization’s O365 environment into the cloud – a complex process that involved several interconnected components. In order to comply with GDPR, DynTek set up the company infrastructure in the cloud, then populated a geo multi-tenant environment.

    DynTek then built out the company’s new voice infrastructure in Microsoft Teams including the set-up and connection of all new voice hardware. The final step in the implementation was building out the actual structure of the organization’s mail, mail migration, collaboration, and collaboration migration.

    The next phase of the engagement was setting up a disaster recovery/business continuity solution in Azure.

    The Results: Following the implementation, the company now had a state-of-the-art infrastructure for voice and digital in the cloud. The new environment enabled faster communication and enhanced collaboration with the security of knowing they had a completely mirrored, cloud-based DR/BC solution for their infrastructure. In addition, they were now fully compliant with the multiple requirements of GDPR, a critical piece for an international organization.

     

    Advertising Agency Enhances Collaboration, Security, and Flexibility Through Digital Transformation

    The Organization: A leading promotional agency, part of a larger media conglomerate with a focus on health and wellness. They help their pharmaceutical clients develop brand platforms that drive positive health experiences and reinforce the important role a brand plays in helping to achieve health outcomes for patients. They handle all of the advertising, results generation, and testing for their major pharma clients.

    The Situation: The organization flexed between 600-1500 users depending on project activity, all operating on a Google infrastructure. The workflow and collaboration were disparate and disjointed with an environment that wasn’t as secure as it needed to be.

    The Challenge: The group was one of the few subsidiaries of the parent company running on a totally different communication platform. They needed to transition to the industry and corporate standard of Microsoft Office 365 in order to provide a secure collaboration environment and seamlessly integrate with the parent company. 

    The DynTek Solution: The DynTek team designed and implemented a digital transformation solution that migrated the organization from Google to an Office 365 Enterprise platform. As part of the transition, DynTek built out SharePoint environment that allowed the organization to manage the process of data mining, data testing, and data response for their pharma customers. These testing solutions required a secure environment to enable communication between the organization and their clients.

    The organization also leveraged DynTek’s CSP tenancy to implement an additional layer of security with Microsoft’s Advanced Threat Protection that DynTek now manages for them.

    DynTek also built the infrastructure around an automated enterprise signature solution that pulled user information from the active directory and ensured that everyone had a standardized email signature

    The next step in the organization’s digital transformation is an expanded wireless infrastructure and a move to Azure for disaster recovery and business continuity.

    The Results:

    “This has been a very successful engagement for us,” says the organization’s CIO. “We are pleased with the knowledge and expertise of the entire DynTek team.”

    As a result of the project, the organization is now better able to collaborate and securely exchange sometimes sensitive information in their SharePoint environment. They are now fully integrated with their parent company and other subsidiaries. Finally, the digital transformation provides them with a cost-effective solution with a flex licensing plan that aligns with their scalable staffing process.

    Large Fitness Club Drives Efficiency with Office 365

    The Organization:  A leader in high-end fitness clubs and programs that pushes the boundaries of what it means to provide excellent service in its industry.

    The Situation:  As the company began to have efficiency issues by leveraging Google applications to conduct business, they knew it needed to modernize and digitally transform its IT infrastructure to keep up with the company’s growth.

    The Challenge:  Before migrating its systems to Office 365, this organization ran all of its operations with Google platforms. They were utilizing over 100 Google sites that lacked clear functionality, used Google Docs as a collaboration tool, and used Gmail for company communication. However, the ungoverned nature of Google platforms led to security issues as well as unmanaged workloads.

    “The vision was to have one centrally unified communication unit. Google didn’t offer that at the enterprise grade level with voice services capability,” says Manager of IT.

    The DynTek Solution: With a desire to modernize quickly and bolster communication across its network of 12,000 employees, they began its digital transformation by migrating its phone system to VOIP with Skype for Business.

    Once they recognized the capabilities and functionality of the Office Productivity Suite, they partnered with DynTek, a company that specializes in facilitating digital transformation in other organizations, to begin a complete migration from Google to Office 365.

    Once the organization was ready to migrate all of its business applications to Office 365, they created SharePoint tutorials as a way to easily train staff on the new platforms. Employees can now access videos and direction guides through SharePoint and gain access to valuable tools, learn new applications, and adapt to the modern workplace.

    During its migration, the organization ran into a unique issue due to its high reliance on Google Docs. The company had over 1.7 million docs stored on Google platforms containing company records and data. With the Docs needing to be converted in a short amount of time, they created a conversion solution in Azure, leveraging its massive computing power to rename files and export them back into a secure server to complete the company’s cloud migration.

    The Results:  Leveraging Office 365 and Azure has created a degree of controlled collaboration that allows the company to run more efficiently. By first integrating Skype for Business, the organization was able to unify communication and significantly reduce operations costs. They can now foster seamless connection across its 89 locations and manage workloads more efficiently. This increased efficiency has led the company to deploy Azure across all of its retail spaces to transfer data and increases its functionality, allowing for greater customer engagement. With Microsoft, the organization is able to secure its spot as a leader in a first-class fitness provider, and leverage technology that is as sophisticated as its clientele.  

    Global Education & Research Organization Leverages Microsoft Solutions for Cloud Migration, Disaster Recovery, and Enhanced Digital Workplace

    The Organization: A global organization with 14,000 users actively involved in education, research and conservation focused on preserving natural and cultural heritage.

    The situation: The organization was reliant on a single site for their data storage and needed a state-of-the-art disaster recovery solution. The engagement quickly evolved into a cloud migration initiative and conversion to a complete digital workplace initiative.

    The Challenge: Ensuring that researchers had uninterrupted access to the massive database the organization managed required moving from a single on-premises environment to a robust cloud-based disaster recovery/business continuity (DR/BC) solution. As the project progressed, the organization decided they needed improved collaboration and a more connected digital workplace.

    The DynTek Solution: DynTek helped migrate the organization’s 14,000 users from Exchange on premises to the full suite of Microsoft cloud solutions. The organization not only wanted to migrate into a collaboration workspace, they wanted to use the collaboration workspace to carry out the implementation.

    The DynTek team began by building out the organization’s artifacts and findings in Microsoft Teams which was then used to manage the project and roll out the solutions to all the sites. The active migration project involved multiple Teams sites and tenancies and took nearly a year to complete.

    The first step was mirroring the organization’s environment in the cloud to establish a reliable DR/BC solution. Accomplishing that involved meeting several upgrade and collaboration requirements. The project expanded as the rollout continued since each of the organization’s locations were independent with its own specific needs. The DynTek team worked with each and fulfilled these requirements using SharePoint, Sites, and Teams.

    The implementation involved installing Surface Hubs in all the organization’s major locations and rolling out OneDrive for Business, Teams, and a SharePoint environment to enable full collaboration for all users.

    The Results: The engagement resulted in a fully collaborative digital workplace with a cloud-based DR/BC solution. As a result, the organization ensured researchers access to their valuable database with no risk of downtime. In addition, they improved the productivity of their users with enhanced collaboration tools of the modern workplace.

    University Uses Private Cloud To Trim IT Costs While Improving Reliability & Innovation

    DynTek helped Florida A&M University use its existing Microsoft license to virtualize its data center with the Hyper-V technology, deploy Microsoft System Center 2012 and move student email into the cloud using Microsoft Office 365 for education.
