Citrix XenApp 6.5 Advanced Administration

This course provides learners with the skills necessary to monitor, maintain, optimize, and troubleshoot Citrix XenApp 6.5 environments running on Windows Server 2008 R2 software. In the Citrix XenServer 6.0 course, students are provided with the foundation necessary to effectively install, configure, administer, and troubleshoot Citrix XenServer 6.  Students will learn how to configure a Provisioning Services 6.0 host and create and manage vDisks in a XenServer environment.  Through the use of hands-on labs, students will acquire the skills needed to configure the Distributed Virtual Switch (DVS) as well as Workload Balancing (WLB).  Students will also create and manage Windows virtutal machines and the resource pools in which they will be placed.

This course provides the foundation necessary for administrators to effectvely centralize and manage desktops in the datacenter and deliver them as a service to users anywhere.  Students will learn how to select a desktop delivery model for each user group based on their needs, build proof-of-concept and production XenDesktop environments, assign virtual desktops to users and cutomize the user experience through policies.  This course also provides instruction on how to build a Provisioning Services farm to enable single-image desktop management, and how to host virtual machines on the client device using Citrix XenClient.

Engineering a Citrix Virtualization Solution 
(CVE-401-1)

The CVE-401-1 Engineering a Citrix Virtualization Solution course provides students with the foundation necessary to effectively plan for and perform the tasks necessary to successfully incorporate a complete Citrix virtualization solution into a Windows Server 2008 environment.  Upon course completion, students will be able to integrate key Citrix virtualization technologies, including XenServer, XenApp, Provisioning Services, and XenDesktop, to create an end-to-end virtualization solution.  This hands-on curriculum includes exercises that teach students best practices for securing the environment, monitoring the different components in the environment, backing-up critical systems, and updating and patching applications and virtualized servers.
